Girl Guides visit
15/11/2024
On November 15th, we were thrilled to host an educational evening for our local Girl Guides. The event was designed to inspire young minds and offer a glimpse into the fascinating world of cat-friendly veterinary care. Our veterinary team is always passionate about creating a cat-friendly environment, and we loved sharing this with the next generation of animal enthusiasts.
The evening kicked off with a guided tour of our practice, where the girls learned what goes into caring for our feline patients, whether they’re visiting as kittens or fully grown cats. From the reception area to the treatment rooms, we highlighted how every detail is designed to make every “cat to vet” experience as stress-free as possible.
Next, we held a brainstorming session on what makes a veterinary practice truly cat-friendly. The girls shared their ideas and learned about the importance of quiet spaces, gentle handling techniques, and understanding feline behavior. Their creativity and enthusiasm were inspiring!
The highlight of the evening was a hands-on surgical suture workshop. Our veterinary team taught the Girl Guides how to practice basic suturing patterns, similar to those used during real surgical procedures. The girls showed incredible focus and skill, and it was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they worked through the practical session.
We are so grateful to the Girl Guides for joining us and hope they left with a deeper appreciation for the care and dedication that goes into being creating a cat-friendly veterinary practice. By inspiring these young minds, we hope to nurture a love for animals and perhaps even spark future careers in veterinary medicine.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible! Stay tuned for more community events where we aim to connect, educate, and share the love for our feline friends.
